INEOS Barex, USA
BAREX®

Barex® for medical products and pharmaceutical packaging
Barex resins belong to a family of acrylonitrile-methyl acrylate copolymers (AMAB) and offer high
barrier properties to gases such as oxygen and nitrogen, as well as chemical resistance and inertness. The barrier to aromas, fragrances, natural and volatile components is outstanding and provides no or negligible interaction between packaging and content. Moreover Barex resins stand up to gamma radiation as well as ethylene oxide sterilization.
Barex is a unique specialty polymer providing solutions for a wide variety of packaging and fabrication needs. Current forms include extruded and calendered sheet, blown film, injection and extrusion blown bottles and injection molded and engineered components. Its use has expanded to an ever-widening range of high demanding applications such as stiff, inert tubing and in orthopedics where the excellent toughness and easy formability of Barex are required.
Barex resins comply with EEC Directives for direct food contact and meet requirements for a USP Class VI Medical Plastic and EU pharmacopoeias.
