VELOX was founded in 1993 when Bernard Goursaud and Max Schlenzig decided to create a sales and marketing company for chemical specialities. Benefitting from an international background in the sector and many years of experience, their idea was to establish a new concept for chemicals distribution. This is focused on a strong partnership between the provider and VELOX, as well as on the continuous pan-European expansion of the sales network.

Since then VELOX has grown steadily and is today a European leader in the marketing and supply of raw material specialities for the plastics, composites, rubber,  paints and coatings industries. We have local sales offices in 18 countries and more than 180 experienced staff.

Some key dates in our corporate development:

1993 – Foundation of VELOX in Hamburg, Germany: our Head Office is still located in the city centre today

1993 – Signature of our first distribution contract with BP (INEOS Barex) for the distribution of Barex

1995 – Beginning of our cooperation with Asahi Kasei for the distribution of Asaclean, Tufprene and Asaflex

1995 – Creation of our Plastics Division

1997 – Foundation of our sales offices in Italy and Benelux

1998 – Creation of our Rubber and Paints & Coatings Divisions

1999 – Foundation of our sales offices in France, Spain and the United Kingdom

2004 – Foundation of our sales offices in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Turkey

2006 – Signature of our distribution agreement with Lubrizol (formerly Noveon) for Estane, Estaloc, Tecothane and Tecoflex

2007 – Foundation of VELOX Scandinavia, based in Sweden

2009 – Merger of our plastic additives with our rubber business to create the new Additives Division

2009 – Appointment of François Minec as General Manager

2009 – Recruitment of our 100^th employee

2011 – Creation of our Business development department

2012 – Foundation of our sales offices in Romania and Austria

2012 – Creation of our new Composites Division employing roughly 50 colleagues in 12 European countries
